Cake, hailing from Sacramento, released their album Comfort Eagle in 2001 and the big hit was Short Skirt/Long Jacket, which IS a fun song and well worth being a hit.
But “Commissioning a Symphony in C” is great in its own right, and didn’t get the play time. The lyrics are interesting, and not your normal rock song story. Give it a listen.
