Home of the Brave by Laurie Anderson is one of the best concert films from the 1980s that you’re going to find. She was an early adopter of a lot of technology that we take granted in today’s music performances. Her music is interesting, her lyrics are thought-provoking.
Language is a Virus is inspired by author William S. Burroughs and every line is a keeper. It starts out with
“Paradise is exactly like
Where you are right now
Only much, much better”
and builds from there. I saw this film at least a couple of times in the theater, and it lead me to seeing her live, which was fantastic as well.
