One of the forgotten stars of the late 1960s is Donovan. He had some great songs, and is primarily seen as part of the “hippie music” scene. He actually had a commune for a while in the 1960s.
Atlantis was not supposed to be the hit of the 45 released, but apparently disc jockeys like it better than the expected hit. It has a great chorus refrain, but I tend to think it is a little marred by how long the spoken part is in the beginning of the song. Not enough to prevent it from being listed here.
