Song 348: My Habit

The Kings are kind of a one-hit wonder, although their big hit was really two songs, “The Beat Goes On” and “Switchin’ to Glide”, that almost always get played together on the radio.

At the time, I thought they were going to be a major band.  The best song on their debut album hardly ever got played – and that is “My Habit”.  David Diamond’s work on the bass is outstanding.

The lyrics (and the tone of the song) sound ominous, but once you read the lyrics, it’s not.

The Kings apparently still do shows, but they seem to be a regional band of Northeastern Canada and the U.S.  They deserved better from their record labels.
