I have a love/ignore relationship with Blondie. There are 5 or 6 of their songs that are always welcome to my ears, including this one.
I’m finding Mattiel an easy listen. This cut is from the 2022 album, Georgia Gothic.
Patti Smith is so underrated. She’s a big part of the beginning of the punk movement. Pioneer of female rock music. An original of rock poetry.
I’ve seen Styx three times in concert, but not since 1980. For me, there’s a debate as to what their best song actually is.
I was never a big fan of Janis Joplin, but my appreciation grew once I heard Beth Hart. Immortal is just a kick ass song, and Hart has a Joplinesque quality to her voice.
The band is Phosphorescent. I did not hear Song for Zula when it came out. It’s a song about heartbreak, but if you read the comments below the video on YouTube, you see folks find it as part of their processing of grief.
