Song 342: Suite Madame Blue

I’ve seen Styx three times in concert, but not since 1980.   I had a girlfriend that really liked them, and I did as well, so for a while, Styx was the band I have seen live most often.  Bypassed and tied by other musicians since then.

For me, there’s a debate as to what their best song, both on vinyl and in concert, actually was.  Some days it is Crystal Ball.  And some days it is Suite Madame Blue.   Today we’re going with Suite Madame Blue.

Styx had a period of time in the 1980s where I somewhat despised most of what they put out.  I quit following at that point, but recently am enjoying the 1970s version of Styx.  Some of that is thanks to a tribute band called BoStyx that performs (and sings) the best of both Boston and Styx almost spot on.  If you like Styx, I’d recommend checking them out.
