I’ve been working out of my house since 1996. That means a LOT of hours every week alone with my computer. (Don’t worry, I do find a variety of ways for a social and activity life as well.)
That means that music has been a common thread ever since then while working. Some folks find music distracting, and for me it depends on the volume. And, of course, the attention needed for work. But running your own business has a lot of components that allow for divided attention.
Some of the music I really like, I probably haven’t shared. For example, I just assume everyone should enjoy the Old 97’s, but I am not sure I’ve ever talked to a single friend about them. And I haven’t seen them in concert yet. But everything I hear from them just resonates. “Jagged” is a good example. It came out in the 1990s, I heard it early in the 2000s, and now I hear it probably at least once a week, it is that often on rotation in my office from various Spotify lists. Give it a listen.
