I have an odd relationship with the music archives of Steely Dan.
I really enjoy the early stuff by Steely Dan. Can’t Buy a Thrill, their debut, is still their best in my opinion. As they matured, I found their music less accessible to me. By the time they released Aja and Goucho, I was disinterested.
And then, at some point in the 2000s, I became reacquainted with the catalog, and I like most of it now. I still think the early stuff is the best but now I enjoy the last albums before their 20 year hiatus.
Weird how your musical tastes can work.
