This is the live version of Moon Tears. I bought the live Nils Lofgren album, Night After Night, after hearing it on KTIM AM, a fantastic radio station that used to broadcast in Marin County , California. The hit they played was Keith Don’t Go, which is worthy enough for the 500 as well, and who knows, may show up here eventually.
But Moon Tears live is so much superior to the recording studio version recorded by Lofgren’s band Grin, and I think it’s because Lofgren takes his time with it. The original version is barely over 2 minutes. This one clocks in near six minutes. It slows down, it jams, it dawdles poetically. I thank KTIM for giving me a connection to hear it.
