Yep.
I don’t listen to this song much but it popped up on Sirius radio today and it struck me how much it isn’t like almost any other famous song from that time in the 1970s. And how good it is. And how much it brings back visualization from the movie. This song is literally embedded in Rocky. It is not just a theme song. It’s the narrarator.
Bill Conti is still alive, and the genius of his effort here has been lauded elsewhere, although somehow this lost to the tepid Evergreen by Barbara Streisand in the Academy Awards for best song that year.
