Welcome to my favorite Christmas song.
This is not my favorite version, but my favorite version is locked in my memory as a child and I can’t remember or determine who did it. Tennessee Ernie Ford’s version is pretty close – deep voice, dramatic FALL ON YOUR KNEES build up, it has it all.
When our youngest was a baby I would sing this song quietly while trying to get him to sleep. Last Thanksgiving we were playing a game where you named your favorites at anything, and one of the questions was Christmas songs.
He said O Holy Night. I like to think I had something to do with it.
