So, I can totally hear this as a sped-up poppy little song that is popular as well.
But Bags has a pace that sucks me in. Clairo’s production of this is genius. Every instrument sounds like it’s slowed down and stretched out for maximum effect. I love the piano particularly.
I know this song was critically acclaimed in 2019, which means it was fairly popular and relatively recently played. Give it another listen, check out the pace of the instrumentation.
