Welcome back to the 1960s, at least sound-wise.
We had our first child in 1996. That is the only reason I can think of as to why I don’t recall hearing this song then and not discovering it until a few years ago. It is one of the coolest and moodiest songs of the 1990s, and I missed it for over 25 years. Hell, it would be one of the coolest and moodiest songs of the 1960s as well.
It is definitely a time machine song.
