You could definitely say that this is one of Simon and Garfunkel’s finest songs, lyrically, harmonically, dramatically. You could easily put it in the most important lyrical songs of the 1960s. When I was a kid I had a best of Simon and Garfunkel cassette, and the album was full of great songs, but none greater than this.
