One of the earliest of the visible punk banks, Eddie and the Hot Rods had a brief but very engaging time as a recording artist in the “movement”. Teenage Depression was a great album, but their second effort is a classic: Life On The Line.
I really could have picked any of a couple three songs from the album to list here, but this is the one I go back to the most often. I just love the guitar work and the hard driven, almost rockabilly push throughout the song. The big hit off the album, Do Anything You Wanna Do, is a good enough song, but this is the best the album has to offer, and it’s a gem.
