Ask anyone the most famous song by Blue Oyster Cult, and it won’t be this one. There are very few songs that are the subject of classic Saturday Night Live skits. That takes a monster hit.
But Death Valley Nights, off of the Spectres album, is one of my favorites by BOC. It’s an eerie melody that meanders until it hits full stride, then chooses to slowly slither on until ending in a full run.
