In the years since 1977 I have grown to be a fan of Rush, have several albums (including 2112) by them, and this song is probably my favorite of theirs.

Matthew Sweet deserves more listens. He came from the same Georgia music scene as R.E.M. He’s had some hits, but Dinosaur Act was not one of them.
The debut album by Elvis Costello is an underestimated classic. Most of us know a song or two from it, but it was chock full of great songs and although Costello has had a great music career, I find it hard to say he’s done anything better than this first album.
Neko Case’s “Fox Confessor Brings the Flood” could be my favorite album of 2006. It brings back memories of working out with weights at the YMCA, and of vacationing with family in Montana. It’s an album that I had on heavy rotation for my personal listening for a long time.

Phil Manzanera and Brian Eno put together one of the most underrated album gems of the 1970s with Diamond Head. Miss Shapiro is a great cut from the album.
I don’t know much about Alive N’ Kicking, but I love this 1970 version of Tighter and Tighter.
One of my favorite instrumentals from my vinyl collection days. Astradyne, from the album Vienna by Ultravox, is pretty much dominated by synthesizers and a fantastic opening to the album.
Karl Wallinger, the force behind World Party, passed away last week. World Party had some great albums in the late 80s and early 90s, and my favorite was Goodbye Jumbo. And my favorite track – Way Down Now – had classic lyrics.
