When David Bowie came out with “Blue Jean” in 1984, I will admit, I wasn’t that excited about it. Seemed too saxophone-y.
The “Tonight” album didn’t really interest me much. But Blue Jean had sticktoitiveness, and kept getting airplay, and eventually when digital music became available on the Internet, it started making my listen lists.
Still does. It isn’t Bowie’s greatest song, but it should be part of a package that contains such choices. And now I like the saxophone parts.
