I kinda feel like we’re losing touch with the rock and roll pioneers of the 1950s. That includes the Everly Brothers. They had a lot of hits during my parent’s coming-of-age generation, and when I was little I’d hear their songs on the old family phonograph… and they were played on the radio as well.
But there’s not much of an audience for 50s song radio anymore, and there’s not a lot of other cultural touchstones to that music at this point in time. So I’m doing my part with this not-so-innocent classic by Don and Phil.
