Terra is a beautiful song by Caetano Veloso. The lyrics sound soothing if you don’t understand Portuguese, but once you read the lyrics the song completely becomes something different, the dream of an imprisoned man. It meanders and turns with emotion and force in such a clear way that language really isn’t a barrier.
Caetano Veloso has a lot of great tunes from the 1970s, but this is my favorite from him.
