Phil Manzanera and Brian Eno put together one of the most underrated album gems of the 1970s with Diamond Head. Their next effort was great as well.
I love the song “Miss Shapiro” and a big part of the appeal is the way it builds in the beginning with discordant instrument lines that are sewn together to build interesting riffs. You’ll find this on other songs on the album as well but this is just primo.
Manzanera spent a long time as guitarist with Roxy Music (when Eno was there as well). I recommend giving this album a shot, it’s well worth it.
