You might know this song as done by the Australian band Flowers. Or you might know it as done by the Australian band Icehouse. If you know it at all, good for you. Same band, same song, sure seems like they were they mismanaged by their label(s).
I don’t know how this band didn’t make it bigger in the 1980s in the U.S. There are a few Australian bands like that. Great synthesizer songs at a time when that’s all rock radio wanted to play. The album was made for cranking up on your Walkman with headphones on.
